This listing is for a MADE IN USA spring handle for most wood, gas, pellet stoves and inserts.  Fits standard 1/2" diameter rod - please measure rod before ordering the handle.  Nickel finish.  Handle is 3 1/2" long and 1 3/4" diameter. To install or remove a spring handle:  If you don't have a strong grip, get someone who does.  Twist in a counter-clockwise direction (looking at the end of the rod).  This will cause the spring to open slightly, and you can push / pull while twisting, to remove or install the handle.  The actual diameter of 1/2" rod can vary ever so slightly.  If the spring handle seems too tight to twist onto the rod, back it off and apply a few drops of oil to the rod, and then twist the handle back onto the rod.  If the spring handle doesn't fit onto the rod quite as tight as you think it should, remove it, clean off any oil or grease that may be on the rod, apply several drops of high-heat Loctite (Blue #246 or Red #272) to the rod, and twist the spring handle back onto the rod.
